Fear has its own way of disrupting our lives whether it is unreal fear, fear of the other, fear of the future or even fear of loss and dying. The swirl of fears can just overwhelm us and turn our lives upside down. We seem to be further and further from just being in God’s presence which is the calm in the midst of the storms of life.
To help me find my way back into God’s peace-filled presence, I’ve been praying “I trust you God. Help me trust you more.” I remind myself of Isaiah 41:10, “Don’t fear because I am with you.” Our scripture passage this Sunday from John 14 has Jesus encouraging us. “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God. Trust in me.” God has an embrace of love for us no matter what is going on in our lives. That’s enough for me to open myself to God. How about you?
Come be with us Sunday as we seek to live hope!
