Trust in Care…

Last Sunday afternoon, Lew and I had a play date with our two youngest granddaughters, Arden (4) and Morgan (2).  We took them to the playground and then to Jason’s Deli for supper and an ice cream cone.  We were very cautious about not losing sight of them, holding hands in crossing the street, and buckling them into car seats.  We were entrusted with their care.

In our Gospel passage in John 17, Jesus is praying to God for the disciples who had been entrusted into his care while he was on earth.  Jesus knows that he is about to leave them through his death.  He prays to God for their care and gives the disciples back to God.  When we follow Christ, we place our lives in the love and care of God – Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.

Every child born is entrusted to the care of their parents to raise them and love them.  This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day.  Come and be with us in worshiping God and giving our lives to God’s care.
