The Upper Room Disciplines, A Book of Daily Devotions 2018
Gathering: Sundays, 9:30 AM, beginning January 7, TUMC Room 106
Are you looking for a new or different way to grow spiritually? Are you looking for a place to join others looking for the same? Do you desire to form a new habit of daily devotion through spiritual formation that helps us grow to spiritual maturity? This new study group might be just for you!
Disciplines is a tool that allows you to attend to the reading of scripture, prayer, and devotion on a daily basis using the Lectionary Passages that follow the church’s liturgical year. The simple plan involves daily reading and a one-hour weekly group meeting based on reading Disciplines book. Together the scripture for that day is read and explored through a process of reflection and meditation.
Books will be given to first 10 persons who sign up and commit to study. Disciplines is also available from bookstore.UpperRoom.org or 800-972-0433 or Amazon.com. Also available electronically and in enlarged print.

This study is the continuation of the Covenant experience of a comprehensive, in-depth study of the Bible over 8 weeks with an emphasis on the biblical concept of covenant as unifying pattern through all the books in the Old and New Testaments. It underscores the unique relationship that God chooses to have with us as God’s people.
Living the Covenant: The study builds on the concept of covenant by applying it to actual relationships to everyday life. Participants will explore emerging leadership amount tribal chieftains, kings and prophets. Study presents the spiritual and political crises that formed the early church; it searches for practical wisdom in the teachings of Israel’s sages; and it considers the practical guidance found in Paul’s letters.
Books for Part 2 –Living the Covenant study are available as part of the 3-book sets or purchased separately as individual study books. Also available electronically from Cokesbury.
