Pub Theology is a movement that started in Great Britain many years ago and has spread to North America. What if the church went out into the community and met people where they were? Not everyone is comfortable going to a church building and sitting through a typical worship service. Some people, especially LGBTQ folks, have had negative experiences in churches. Others have tough questions about faith, belief, and life, yet were discouraged from asking questions in other churches. Unfortunately, the church has let down a lot of people. ​ Yet everyone has spiritual yearnings and would benefit from being part of the spiritual community. So if someone wasn’t comfortable going to a traditional church building, maybe they would be willing to come to a bar or pub. After all, Jesus was willing to go most anywhere in order to minster to the people. So should we.
